I've been in Tasmania for two weeks now; visiting friends in
Launceston and camping on the east coast travelling down to Hobart and Bruny
Island. I suppose the next few posts will be sort of like a re-cap. I've always
hated doing that in diaries/blogs but I feel like I have been collecting a lot
of information over my recent travels and have had the urge to write but
couldn't really afford the time. I
suppose that happens when you're travelling and staying with people; you're
living day to day seeing and doing lots of new things but don't necessarily
have a lot of time to collect your thoughts and reflect.
I travelled with my friend Georgia for the first week and a
half. She is a photographer so I quite often rely on her to document places
when we are travelling somewhere together. It's probably a bit lazy on my
behalf but I enjoy being able to just experience the place and the moment without
a camera in my hand (but still knowing that someone will have photographically
captured some part of it for me). I do take my own photos in certain places and
more so when I am on my own. Looking at
Georgia's photos I can feel differently about the place we might have been to.
You are seeing someone else's view for a moment and it may not necessarily be
the same view that you recorded or exactly the way you remembered it. I will
indicate when I am posting Georgia's photos on this blog.
